Today at 7:30 a.m. ET, Slovenia and the United States hit the ice at the Shayba Arena in Sochi for Group A action as part of the 2014 Winter Olympics. The game can be live streamed for free here.

The United States has won both of their games and has five points to place them atop Group A, and can earn an automatic bid to the quarterfinals with a regulation win while Slovenia would need a regulation win and some help from Slovakia against Russia.

Slovenia lost to Russia 5-2 in its opener, but was able to notch a victory against Slovakia by a 3-1 margin on Saturday.

"It's amazing, but there's not much time to celebrate," goalie Robert Kristan told the IIHF website. "We've got a tough game against the U.S. to come."

Anze Kopitar is the lone NHL representative on Slovenia, and has 47 points through 59 games for the Los Angeles Kings this season off of 17 goals and 30 assists.

The United States went through a dramatic game with Russia that saw the team earn a huge 3-2 victory in an eight-round shootout in a win that allowed them to control their own fate in group play.

Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick stopped 29 shots through regulation and overtime and followed it up by stopping five of eight Russian shooters in the shootout.

T.J. Oshie (St. Louis Blues) was a hero in the shootout, scoring four times to lift the U.S. to victory.

"It was awesome," forward Joe Pavelski, who scored in regulation told NHL.com. "Whatever type of game you want to explain it as, it was that."

Pavelski has 54 points in 59 games this season for the San Jose Sharks off of 29 goals and 25 assists.

The United States looks to go 3-0 through group play while Slovenia looks for a big win when the puck drops at the Shayba Arena in Sochi as part of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.
