For the second time since Saturday, unruly fan behavior is being called out - this time in Alabama.
Fan behavior in college athletics has become a hot topic in light of the situation with Oklahoma State star basketball player Marcus Smart pushing a Texas Tech fan, a grown man, who called Smart a "piece of crap."
Now, media reports are surfacing about fan behavior involving a high school football recruit at Auburn High School backing out on his commitment to Auburn to sign with rival Alabama.
Linebacker Rashaan Evans, a five-star recruit, jilted his hometown school, Auburn, to sign with Auburn's biggest rival.
Tigers fans don't seem to happy about that change of heart, according to Evans and his family.
"It's getting worse," Evans said on Monday evening to TideSports.com. "Someone actually put out an article about my family's business telling all Auburn fans not to go there. We are going to eventually start losing money. People are telling restaurants in the town not to serve us.
"It's hard for me to go out and chill with my friends like I have always done because people keep coming up to me telling me I made a bad decision. It's grown men. They are asking me why I did this to them. I told them I had to do what is best for me."
Evans' father also has weighed in on the vitriol toward the family.
"It's kind of disturbing to know that it's such a thin line between love and hate," Alan said, according to al.com. "A couple weeks ago before he made his decision, Auburn was handing him the keys to the kingdom when they thought he was a lock. Now they want to crucify Rashaan and his family because he wanted to do what he thought was best for him and his future."
"I don't spend time on message boards but I was made aware by some friends of posts on several Auburn message boards calling for a boycott of our business," he said. "It's shocking and hurtful to find out people who used to support us have decided to try and hurt us simply because our son chose to attend a different school than the one they root for."
