Kevin Durant admits "I'm not so sure I would have reacted any different" if faced with the same situation that landed Oklahoma State star guard Marcus Smart a three-game suspension for shoving a fan.

"I played in that place my one year at Texas, and those fans say some crazy stuff to you," the Oklahoma City Thunder star forward told SlamOnline. "But he's a 19-year-old kid, heat of the moment. It's easy for you guys to judge him because you've never been in that situation."

While the issue of what Texas Tech "super fan" Jeff Orr really said to Smart remains somewhat of a mystery, it was enough for the All-American guard to angrily shove the taunting fan. Smart has since claimed Orr called him the N-word.

"I just put it like this, if you wouldn't say that if we were walking down the street, then you should keep that to yourself," Durant told Slam. He later added of Smart "I'm sure he regrets it, made a mistake and I'm sure he'll learn from it."

Leading the league in scoring at 31.2 points per game, including a stretch of 12 games where he netted at least 30 points, many of the showing on the road before hostile crowds, the 25-year-old Durant knows all too well how it feels to be heckled.

Through all the madness, Slam notes the gentlemanly Durant has never had a similar altercation with a fan.
