Forward Metta World Peace is keen on getting out of the New York Knicks due to his limited playing time, the latest chapter in a season of disappointments and drama within the Knicks camp.

According to the New York Post, the defensive ace who returned to the line-up on January 24 after a blood-spinning procedure, would not mind being traded because of his lack of playing time.

"He didn't sign up for this,'' said a source close to the forward.

World Peace, when asked about the possibility of getting trade, said: "That's up to my agent. I don't worry about it. I'm optimistic about my future. ... I'm not going to complain.''

His agent, Marc Cornstein, said he doesn't know why World Peace is not being used.

"I haven't been given an answer,'' he said. "Usually, I'll get an answer, not always the one I want to hear. But I don't have an answer for you on this.''

The New York Post is also reporting that there's a possibility that Woodson was irked by World Peace's wisecrack about his lack of playing time. It added that while World Peace is known for his humor in the locker room, the coach may have been offended which could explain why he rarely uses the forward.

Woodson himself has not given any reason why World Peace is not getting the minutes. He recently said about the issue: "I want to play nine guys. You can't play everybody.''

World Peace is averaging a career-low 5.1 points on 40% field goal shooting. In the last 10 games of the Knicks, he has appeared in only four contests averaging eight minutes per game.
