With news that Sting and the WWE have been closing in on a contract, nothing has been officially signed yet as Sting is still waiting to sign the deal and it is unlikely he will be used at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. The same can be said for Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, though both are almost guaranteed to be at WrestleMania 31 in California.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Sting has yet to sign a deal with the WWE but the two parties are very close to having the deal set in stone. According to the report, the two sides are working on the merchandising part of the deal and once that is complete Sting will come aboard to the WWE.

The report also states that the idea is to not use Sting at the WrestleMania XXX event as of now but it can always change. It was rumored that Sting may take on The Undertaker at the event, but with the deal taking a while to sign, Sting will likely be held off of the event or used in a vignette of some sort while The Undertaker is still rumored to take on Brock Lesnar.

The internal feeling is that Sting will be used at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 and there have rumors of a future Hall of Fame induction for the superstar who has often eluded the WWE while staying a WCW icon and then a TNA mainstay following the company's collapse in 2001.

As for The Rock, Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE's merchandising department was told not to distribute anything with him on it by himself though they were still allowed to produce items that have him with a group of people. The Rock told the WWE in August that he would not be able to do any business with them for WrestleMania XXX due to conflicts with his movie schedule.

The Rock also said that he would likely be able to do WrestleMania 31 in California. The Rock has also said publically that he will try to do WrestleMania 31. There were previous reports that the early plans for WrestleMania XXX called for The Rock to take on Brock Lesnar at the event, but once The Rock informed the WWE in August that he couldn't partake, they shook up their plans.

After a seven year hiatus from the company, The Rock has done each WrestleMania from 27-29, but it looks as though he'll miss the biggest event of the year this time around while Sting remains close to a contract but likely won't be appearing at the event either.
