Goldust and Cody Rhodes lost the WWE Tag Team Championships at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 26 and reports indicate that a split could be coming between the two brothers that will lead to a match at WrestleMania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6.

Goldust and Rhodes lost the titles to the New Age Outlaws at the Royal Rumble kick-off, and were unsuccessful in gaining them back in a steel cage match at Monday's episode of RAW.

When he wasn't actively back wrestling for the WWE, Goldust had campaigned in interviews and through his Twitter account to have a program with his brother Cody at WrestleMania over the years, but he recently said he was loving the run he and his brother were having as tag champs and no longer wanted to face him, though it looks like it may happen anyway.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the split could come to fruition at the Feb. 23 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view at the Target Center in Minneapolis. It is likely that the WWE will have Rhodes and Goldust pair up to take on the Outlaws again at the pay-per-view, and they may work a split into the storylines to lead into a WrestleMania XXX match.

According to the report, Goldust was originally under contract with the WWE through WrestleMania XXX, but he's signed an extension that runs through the SummerSlam pay-per-view event in August. Once that deal expires, he is reportedly expected to become an agent backstage. It's unknown who will work as the heel and who would be the babyface if the program happens.

If the tag match happens at Elimination Chamber, it will be added to a card that already consists of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton vs. John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus vs. Christian vs. Antonio Cesaro in an Elimination Chamber match and The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family in a six-man tag team match.

Rhodes vs. Goldust joins a slew of rumored matches for WrestleMania XXX that include John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, Batista vs. Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H and The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. The plans for WrestleMania XXX have been up in the air, so the card and potential plans are subject to change.
