Unbeaten No. 6 Florida Rout Florida State 72-47

Kenny Boynton and Mike Rosario scored 14 points apiece as sixth-ranked Florida Gators eased past the Florida State Seminoles 72-47 Wednesday night.

Freshman Michael Frazier scored 12 points, whereas Scottie Wilbekin contributed with five points, five assists and five steals in the Gators' easy victory over the defending Atlantic Coast Conference champions.

Patric Young, who played for 27 minutes in the game, added 10 points and chipped in with eight rebounds.

"Hopefully our guys are able to see is that our sum -- our total -- is maybe bigger than one or two individuals," the Associated Press quoted Florida coach Billy Donovan as saying. "That's a good sign of a team."

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton also appreciated the opponent's performance.

"We ran into one of the better teams that we've played since I've been at Florida State," Hamilton said.

"They've found the magic level. They understand who they are and what their strengths and weaknesses are and they're just executing until they find the mistake that you're going to make and they make you pay."

The Gators started off well and in five minutes took a 12-2 lead to set the tone for would be a one-sided game.

"We took care of business in the first four minutes and that's what really determined the game. We didn't want to slow the game down," Boynton said. "We could have beaten them by more."

Unbeaten Florida are good in defense this season. They have successfully limited five opponents to less than 50 points.

"They were struggling switching pick and rolls with their bigger guys," Young said.

For Florida State, top scorer Michael Snaer added 10 points, but he could not score a single point in the first half.

"When your system is not in sync it's difficult for any of the guys to execute," Hamilton said. "I think he'll be fine."

Florida outscored Florida State 35-15 in the first half. In the second period, the Gators scored 37, whereas the Seminoles could make only 32.

Florida State had only 16 out of 46 attempts from the field, whereas the winners had 27 out of 55 in the game.
