Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Vancouver Canucks (27-20-9, 63 points) and Detroit Red Wings (24-19-12, 60 points) hit the ice at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit for the second and final meeting against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Vancouver fans can hear all of the action by adjusting their radios to TEAM 1040 while Detroit fans can do the same on 97.1 The Ticket.
Vancouver has lost three straight games while Detroit has lost three of its last four games. The first time these two teams met, the Red Wings beat the Canucks 2-1 in Vancouver on Oct. 30.
The Canucks will get head coach John Tortorella back after he was suspended 15 games for the team's line brawl against the Calgary Flames last month. The Canucks are banged up defensively and are coming off of a 4-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets on Friday.
"We were resilient," center Ryan Kesler, who has a goal and three assists in his past two games, said via NHL.com. "We need to find a way to win. It's a tough one. I don't like to lose. Nobody in here likes to lose. It's getting really old."
Kesler is third on the team with 37 points off of 19 goals and 18 assists while Daniel Sedin is tied for the team lead with 40 points off of 13 goals and 27 assists. Henrik Sedin (nine goals, 31 assists) also has 40 points but is sidelined with a rib injury.
The Red Wings are coming off of a 6-5 loss to the Washington Capitals Sunday afternoon in overtime.
"We showed some good resilience tonight," goalie Jimmy Howard said per NHL.com. "We found a way to come back, scraping and clawing and getting a point. At the same time, we could've easily been walking out of here with two points. I've got to find a way to come up with a couple more saves for the guys."
Howard is 10-12-9 with a 2.75 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage this season. Roberto Luongo will likely suit up for Vancouver and is 19-13-6 with a 2.30 GAA and a .920 save percentage.
Detroit has been paced by Henrik Zetterberg, who has 47 points off of 16 goals and 31 assists while Daniel Alfredsson (12 tallies, 21 helpers) and Niklas Kronwall (six goals, 27 assists) each have 33 points.
The Canucks and Red Wings faceoff when the lights come up tonight at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit.
