With WrestleMania XXX just around the corner on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, it is believed that the WWE is going to sign Sting and may have a possible role for him once he comes on board.

It was reported last week that the WWE has been close to signing Sting and that the company expects him to sign a contract any day now, while nothing has been made official. There have been rumors of Sting taking on The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX, but with the delays in Sting signing with the company the WWE isn't expecting to rush him into a match at the event while he may either make an appearance or be shown in a vignette during the event.

It was reported last week that the WWE was planning on eventually inducting Sting into its Hall of Fame either this year or next year in order to familiarize its fan base with him. The WWE also wants to use Sting as a face for the WWE Network since it will be airing old footage of WCW and Sting is considered a staple of the now-defunct organization.

The WWE has tried to lure Sting over for years since buying out WCW in 2001, but he's become a mainstay at TNA. With the WWE's confidence in Sting's willingness to sign a deal it seems as though he could finally be coming. Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that the WWE believes it's a foregone conclusion that Sting will be coming in and they may be prepared to use him as the new RAW general manager.

According to the report, the working idea is for Sting to be the RAW GM but plans could change once Sting signs the deal. The WWE has reportedly been working on creative ideas for Sting's arrival including some merchandise it will prepare to sell. The WWE had to clear many hurdles with Sting before signing him, including discovering what Sting was and wasn't willing to do creatively.

With Undertaker and Sting reportedly not squaring off at WrestleMania, it is expected that the company will be pitting Undertaker against Brock Lesnar at the event, while Lesnar may even face Batista if the WWE decides to go down that path.

It is expected that Sting will finally join the WWE this year.
