Heaven help Peton Manning.
Manning and his Denver Broncos found themselves trailing the Seattle Seahawks 22-0 at halftime with the league MVP having thrown two interceptions and having struggled mightily in Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
But don't count the league MVP out, as Christian Post.com reports Manning has the support of the entire christian faith riding with him as the Broncos readied themselves for their make-or-break secomd half.
The score jumped to 36-0 with three minutes left on the third quarter.
It hardly rates as an unfamaliar place for Manning, who has been destroying defenses as how now needs to all season long.
In his autobiography "Manning,"the Broncos star wrote: "I committed my life to Christ, and that faith has been most important to me ever since." He added, "I hope and pray I don't do too many things that displease Him before I get to Heaven myself. I believe, too, that life is much better and freer when you're committed to God in that way."
He also reflected that prayer is something he relies on each day, praying to God , each night and before he takes to the field. The four-time league MVP entered the game having passed for a record-setting 5,477 and 55 touchdown.
Even though Manning is often heralded as the hero on the football field, he readily testified that he is far from perfect and is "no better than anybody else in God's sight. I pray every night, sometimes long prayers about a lot of things and a lot of people, but I don't talk about it or brag about it because that's between God and me, and I'm no better than anybody else in God's sight."
