The Denver Broncos have made it to the Super Bowl without Tim Tebow, but the former Denver quarterback has been the subject of a lot of speculation as the NFL world waits to see if he'll sign a contract with another team. Tebow appeared in a T-Mobile commercial during Super Bowl XLVIII while making light of the fact that he doesn't have an NFL contract.
The tongue-in-cheek commercial features Tebow saying, "Everyone thinks I want a contract, but without one I've done so much this year."
Tebow then went through his many "accomplishments" without an NFL contract, navigating the viewer through a series of ridiculous events that saw the former NFL quarterback deliver a baby, save puppies from a burning building, become a standup comedian, play chess, and reach the moon.
The ad was made to advertise T-Mobile's initiative to buy cellphone users out of their current contracts in order for them to switch to T-Mobile.
Following Tebow conquering World Peace, he said that "contracts hold you back," after which a narrator said, "Switch to T-Mobile and we'll buy you out of yours."
Tebow, who led the Broncos to a division title in 2011, hasn't been able to land a new team since the 2012 experiment with the New York Jets.
The former Heisman Trophy winner is a lifetime 173-for-361 (47.9%) for 2,422 yards with 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions through a three-year NFL career split between the Broncos and the Jets. Tebow rushed for a total of 989 yards on 197 attempts while reaching the end zone 12 times in his career.
While Peyton Manning and the Broncos attempt to win Super Bowl XLVIII against the Seattle Seahawks, Tebow still remains a topic of conversation following his Super Bowl ad.
