Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET, the Montreal Canadiens (28-20-5, 61 points) and Boston Bruins (34-15-3, 71 points) faceoff live from the TD Garden in Boston for the second of four meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Montreal fans can hear all of the action on TSN 690 while Boston fans can do the same on WBZ 1030.
Montreal enters play having lost four of its last five but it has beaten the Bruins the last four times they've met dating back to last season while Boston has a four-game winning streak going entering tonight. The first time these two met, the Canadiens beat the Bruins 2-1 in Montreal on Dec. 5.
The Bruins once again showed their knack for scoring in their last victory, a 6-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Tuesday.
"We've always had success by having different guys stepping up at different times," forward Milan Lucic said after the game Tuesday, according to CSNNE.com. "Our team play is what has given us the most success."
Lucic and Jarome Iginla each have 15 goals and 21 assists for 56 points to rank third on the team while Reilly Smith has 18 markers and 22 helpers for 40 points and David Krejci has lit the lamp 11 times and added 34 assists to lead the team with 45 points.
The Canadiens know their rivalry with the Bruins goes deep and that even though they've won four straight against them anything can change in an instant.
"We've had a natural rivalry with the Bruins over the years and over the decades," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien told NHL.com after practice Wednesday. "They are always games that are exciting to play, and there's no doubt the way we played [Tuesday] helped our team's confidence to play this game. The Bruins are playing well, so it will be a big challenge."
P.K. Subban has paced the Canadiens with 36 points off of eight goals and 24 assists while Max Pacioretty--who scored the game-winner the first time these teams met--has 22 tallies and 10 helpers for 32 points and Tomas Plekanec has found the twine 16 times and added 14 assists for 30 points.
In net, Montreal will likely turn to Carey Price, who is 23-16-4 with a 2.44 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage while Tuukka Rask will likely suit up for Boston and is 24-12-3 with a 2.07 GAA and a .930 save percentage.
The Canadiens look for their fifth straight win over Boston while the Bruins hope to win their fifth vicotory in a row overall when the puck drops tonight at the TD Garden in Boston.
