Kyrie Irving reportedly wants to follow in LeBron James' footsteps.

After being projected as a bonafide playoff contender, the Cleveland Cavaliers now find themselves in the midst of one of the league's most disappointing seasons, and the third-year All-Star guard has apparently had enough.

"Irving has been telling people privately he wants out," BasketballGM.com reports. "The Cavs are working to try to create a winning situation and culture to make him happy."

The 21-year-old Irving becomes eligible for a contract extension this offseason and almost certainly will receive a max offer from the Cavs. In addition, Irving could become a restricted free agent in the 2015, allowing him to leave with no strings attached--- much like James--- in 2016.

Despite Irving being named an Eastern Conference All-Star Game starter on the strength of averaging 22 points and six assists, the Cavs have struggled to a 16-29 start and fourth place in the Central Division.

What's more, tensions have been high, with Irving and backcourt mate Dion Waiters reportedly feuding to the point of engaging in a locker room fistfight and several teammates complaining about coach Mike Brown's handling of the team.

James bolted his hometown team after seven seasons and since landing in Miami has won two titles in three full seasons.
