The Boston Celtics remain lukewarm to proposals from the New York Knicks for All-Star guard Rajon Rondo.

With the Feb. 20, trade deadline looming, BasketballInsiders.com reports the Knicks have been presistent in expressing their interest in obtaining the four-time All-Star, even though he has only played in a handful of games this season after recovering from offseason ACL surgery.

Despite being resistant to most trade offers for the volatile guard, the team stopped short of giving Rondo a no-trade guarantee.

BasketballInsiders reports the Knicks' lingering interest in Rondo comes as no surprise, what with the team stuck with a point guard rotation of Raymond Felton, Beno Udrih and Pablo Prigioni.

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge recently told reporters that the team had been in talks with Rondo about an extension, but Tondo turned the overture.

Rondo has appeared in six contests since returning from injury and is still attempting to regain his form posting averages of 6.7 points and 5.7 assists on just 28 percent shooting from the floor.

The 15-32 Celtics are currently the Eastern Conference's No. 12 seed, meaning if the playoffs started today they would miss the postseason.
