Jake "The Snake" Roberts' road to redemption has reached its highest honor as the WWE announced on Monday Night RAW that the formerly troubled wrestler will join the Ultimate Warrior in the Hall of Fame class of 2014 on the eve of WrestleMania XXX at the New Orleans Arena.

Roberts, 58, who spent years battling substance abuse and finally sobered up with the help of fellow wrestler Diamond Dallas Page and his DDP Yoga program, will be a part of the company's WrestleMania XXX weekend which starts with Saturday night's Hall of Fame ceremony on April 5 and concludes with the actual event at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans the following evening.

Roberts moved from Texas to Page's home in suburban Atlanta to use his yoga system and train hard for a comeback to wrestling shape while also kicking his drug habit and has gone from one of the saddest stories in pro wrestling to one of the greatest and his saga will now culminate with his place in the WWE Hall of Fame.

Following the announcement on RAW, Roberts took to Twitter to talk about the honor of his induction:

Roberts was interviewed by Newsday in 2012 about his move into Page's house and the undertaking of his training.

"Damn, I'm thankful," Roberts said per Newsday in a November 2012 interview. "And it's [living healthier] changing the way you look at things because you're walking differently, you're eating differently, you're able to do things you hadn't been able to do in 20 years."

Roberts was able to drop some weight and sober up and eventually helped Page in mentoring fellow troubled wrestler Scott Hall in 2013. Roberts, who was one of the most popular superstars in the 1980s and 1990s, fell out of favor with the WWE due to all of his problems and there was a lot of bitterness between both sides for years.

The WWE was then convinced enough that Roberts turned his life around, that he was featured at the end of January's Old School edition of RAW where he brought his infamous snake with him to the ring to close out the show.

Roberts made a career out of cutting cold, sinister promos and bringing his friend Damien to the ring with him.

Roberts joins The Warrior as the first two names announced for the Hall of Fame on the eve of WrestleMania XXX.
