The Chicago Bulls front office seems like it's in the mood to tank in the wake of Derrick Rose's season-ending meniscus injury. Following the loss of their former MVP, the Bulls decided to trade the team's next best scorer, Luol Deng, for Andrew Bynum who was almost instantly released.

The only problem is that head coach Tom Thibodeau has been coaching circles around his opponents lately, and winning with the least talent he's had during his Bulls tenure. The winning is a testament to the culture he's set, and the defensive identity he has established, but he is rumored to be clashing with the front office.

In fact, there are whispers that he could be on his way out in Chi-town, which Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers called "nuts."

"I don't know why he wouldn't be [the Bulls' coach next season]. I think it would be nuts not to have him here. He's the best coach, one of the best coaches in this league. So if you have that, that's an asset. And I don't think any right-minded organization would allow that asset to leave. Because with all this adversity they've had with injuries, if you allow that one to leave, things will fall apart. And that would be pretty much a guarantee."

Thibodeau seemed to appreciate Rivers' sentiment, but dodged the question when asked about Doc's comments. "Obviously, I have a lot of respect for anything Doc does say," Thibodeau said. "But to go down that path ... every day there's something going on. Now, the rumor about my date with Kate Upton, started by me, I'm not commenting on that either. So let's move on."

He has indeed moved on, winning nine of the Bulls' last 11 games while getting almost nightly double-doubles out of center Joakim Noah. If he continues to pile up victories with a roster robbed of its scoring punch, it's a safe bet he'll be roaming the sidelines regardless of his relationship with the front office.
