Richard Sherman Interview With Erin Andrews [VIDEO]: Roger Goodell Unhappy With Comments, 'I'm Not Cheering For That'

Richard Sherman's antics following the Seattle Seahawks 23-17 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game drew the ire of many people around the league, and commissioner Roger Goodell is no exception.

Goodell, who said he will be sitting out in public at MetLife Stadium on Feb. 2 when the Seahawks take on the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl XLVIII, said that he was not a fan of Sherman's actions after he screamed at 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree during his postgame interview with Fox Sports.

"No, I'm not cheering for that," Goodell said on CBS This Morning on Thursday about Sherman's postgame comments. "[Sherman] is such a great young man. He is extremely well-spoken, does great things off the field, obviously a great player on the field. I want him to present himself in the best possible way and make sure that he is reflecting on himself and his family in a positive way."

Sherman tipped a pass in the end zone from Colin Kaepernick that was aimed towards Crabtree and ended up in the hands of Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith, sealing the Seahawks first trip to the Super Bowl since 2005.

"I'm the best corner in the game,'' Sherman yelled. "When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you're gonna get. Don't you ever talk about me."

Sherman was then asked who was talking about him and called out Crabtree.

"Crabtree," he told Fox Sports. "Don't you open your mouth about the best, or I'm gonna shut it for you real quick."

Sherman, who led the league with eight interceptions this season, eventually apologized and said that he was just passionate about the game and admitted that the comments were "misguided and immature" while also claiming he wasn't a villain or a thug.

Goodell said he was upset because Sherman's comments took some attention off of the fact that he and his teammates just earned a trip to the Super Bowl.

"He took away a little bit from the team, that's what he said yesterday, and I think that was a very interesting comment and I think that was fair," Goodell said via CBS.

Sherman and the Seahawks look for the first Super Bowl title in franchise history in just over a week at MetLife Stadium.
