Lindsey Vonn's Sochi Olympic dreams may not quite be over.

According to Deadline.com, Tiger Woods' girlfriend is now in talks with NBC Sports about joining the network's coverage of the Winter Olympics set to kick off early next month.

"I don't think she is going to be able to travel," NBC Olympics executive producer Jim Bell conceeded of the 2010 Vancouver Games downhill skiing gold medalist, before adding "we have been discussions" about her working telecasts in some form or another.

The 29-year-old Vonn was thought to be a virtual shoo-in as a competitor for the games, but the re-aggravation of an old injury to her already surgically repaired left knee has ended that line of thinking. Vonn recently underwent surgery to repair ligament damage and has stressed she plans to return to the slopes as soon as she is physically able.

As for missing a star of Vonn's popularity, Bell insisted he wasn't too worry about what impact it might have on fan interest.

"There are plenty of established stars to go round, like Shaun White," he told Deadline. "And there are always the unknowns. No one knew who the gymnasts were, but they became stars," he added of the U.S.' breakout darlings of the 2012 London Olympics.

Vonn and Woods have now publicly been dating for more than a year and she has raved about how his competitive nature has aiding her in better controlling her own emotions.
