Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Pittsburgh Penguins (35-13-2, 72 points) and New York Islanders (21-24-7, 49 points) skate against each other at the Nassau Coliseum in New York for the fourth and final time this season. Pittsburgh has won seven of their last 10 games and continues to build on its Metropolitan Division lead while New York has won seven of its last nine and continues to work its way back from their early season slump. The Islanders beat the Penguins 4-3 in Pittsburgh Oct. 25 before the Pens notched a 4-3 victory in Pittsburgh on Nov. 22. The last time these two teams met, the Pens topped the Isles 3-2 in a shootout on Long Island on Dec. 3.

Two of the NHL's leading scorers go head-to-head as Sidney Crosby (26-43-69) and the Penguins visit John Tavares (23-39-62) and the Islanders. Crosby leads the NHL in points while Tavares has 18 points in 11 games in 2014.

The Penguins topped the Montreal Canadiens 5-1 Wednesday behind two goals form Jussi Jokinen.

"He came out big for us in a lot of ways, scoring some goals here for us," coach Dan Bylsma said per NHL.com. "To have his 14th and 15th goals for us, it's secondary scoring and it's been big for us."

The Islanders are coming off of a 5-3 come-from-behind win over the rival New York Rangers on Tuesday.

"During the last month and a half we've done a much better job in all three zones and battling through adversity when it's been there," Tavares told NHL.com.

Aside from Tavares, Kyle Okposo has helped pace the team with 20 goals and 31 assists for 51 points while Thomas Vanek has a six-game point streak going and has 18 markers and 27 helpers for 45 points.

While Crosby leads the Penguins, they have also been aided by Chris Kunitz, who has 50 points while lighting the lamp 24 times and adding 26 assists while Evgeni Malkin has found the twine 13 times and added 37 helpers for 50 points as well.

In net, New York will likely turn to Kevin Poulin, who is 11-14-0 with a 3.10 goals-against average and a .896 save percentage while Marc-Andre Fleury will likely man the crease for Pittsburgh and is 28-11-1 with a 2.30 GAA and a .916 save percentage.

Two hot teams go head-to-head when the Islanders and Penguins hit the ice at the Nassau Coliseum tonight in Long Island.
