Miami Heat star and Chicago-native Dwyane Wade has sold his River West town house for $1.66 million, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Built in 2000, the four-bedroom, 3,476-square foot property also features 31/2 baths, hardwood floors, granite countertops, a custom wet bar and a balcony. The Tribune adds the new owners, who are not celebrities, already own the home directly across the street.
Wade, 32, recently announced his engagement to actress Gabrielle Union. The three-time NBA champ already owns a six-bedroom, 12, 250-square foot mansion in Miami Beach he bought for $10.6 million in 2010 that he shares with his two sons from a previous marriage he has sole, custody of. Wade also recently legally adopted a young nephew.
The Tribune reports Wade bought the Chicago home for $1.4 million and initially listed it in November for $1.4 million.
Wade was not the only professional athlete who owned a home in the complex. Dallas Mavs forward Shawn Marion, a native of nearby Waukegan, owns a townhouse that he bought in 2004 for $985,000, while Blackhawks defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson paid $1.32 million in late 2010 for a town house.
