It is widely expected that the New York Jets will cut inconsistent quarterback Mark Sanchez and hitch their offense on the back of Geno Smith after an up-and-down rookie season in 2013, and with many teams in the NFL in need of a new signal caller, at least one head coach said he'd be interested in taking Sanchez once he becomes available.

According to NBC Sports, an anonymous coach with a vacancy under center said that he would definitely take Sanchez on his team if and when the Jets choose to cut him. The Jets are likely to cut Sanchez to get his salary off of the payroll, despite the fact that he has publically said that he had hoped to stay with New York.

An unnamed coach told the New York Post that he'd gladly take Sanchez once he became available.

"We'd take Sanchez," the coach told the Post. "He'd be the starter as soon as he walked in the door for us."

Sanchez was sidelined for all of the 2013 after injuring his shoulder in a Week 3 preseason game against the New York Giants and undergoing surgery to repair it. The injury ended his quarterback competition with Smith, and gave the rookie quarterback the reigns to the offense.

Sanchez has struggled throughout the duration of his four-year career, showing signs of promise at times while also making some head-scratching mistakes on the field. Still, in his first two seasons in the league, Sanchez won a combined four road playoff games which may be enough for teams to give him a chance.

The Jets drafted him with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 draft, but after they opted to draft Smith in the 2013 NFL Draft, his time with the Jets seemed to be coming to a close.

Sanchez went 246-for-453 (54.3%) for 2,883 yards with 13 touchdowns and 18 interceptions in 2012 in what may prove to be his final regular season with the Jets.

For his career, Sanchez is 1,028-for-1,867 (55.1%) for 12,092 yards with 68 scores and 69 picks.
