Longhorns, Sooners Rivalry: East-West Shrine Game Lets Sooner Taunt Texas Teammates by Putting Upside-Down Longhorns Decal on Helmet [VIDEO]

Even the prestigious East-West Shrine Game involving college football all-stars is not immune to taunting, but this is actually worse because it involves teammates.

Fox Sports Southwest reported Friday that Oklahoma center Gabe Ikard is looking for some payback as he gets ready to play today's game in St. Petersburg, Fla.

The Sooners player apparently still is bitter over his team's 36-20 loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Rivalry in October. He posted a photo on his Twitter account of the helmet he intends to wear for the all-star game.

The tweet reads, "The helmet is ready to go for the @Shrine_Game #Boomer(.)"

The photo of his helmet shows an upside down Longhorns logo.

According to Fox Sports Southwest, it's a common practice for Oklahoma fans to mimic the "Horns down" hand sign and turning the Texas logo upside down.

The problem with the taunting is that two Longhorns players, kicker Anthony Fera and cornerback Byndom Carrington, will be Ikard's teammates on the West roster.

USA TODAY Sports' For the Win reports that Nebraska offensive lineman Jeremiah Sirles has gotten into the act, putting the Longhorns logo upside down on his helmet as well.

Sirles tweeted a photo of his helmet as well, with the caption, "New addition to the helmet for the game #hornsdown"

Participants in the East-West Shrine Game traditionally wear their own helmet, For the Win reports, and East-West Shrine officials allow the players to decorate their helmet however they want. Players often exchange logo decals and put them on their helmets as a gesture of camaraderie among the players at the event.

Shrine Game officials have not commented on the helmets.
