Lindsey Vonn underwent knee surgery on Wednesday and is hopeful she will be able to return to the slopes by the 2015 World Championships, according to CNN.

Tiger Woods' girlfriend had ligaments in her right knee reattached in a procedure that is being described as a "success" by her publicist. Vonn, the reigning Olympic and World Cup downhill champion, previously announced the injury would cause her to miss the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

"Lindsey Vonn underwent successful ACL reconstruction surgery," representatives for her said in a statement. "Dr. James Andrews performed the procedure and expects her to make a full recovery in time for next years World Championships in Vail, colorado."

Vonn first suffered the injury in February of 2013 and re-injured her knee in Val d'lsere, France last month. After this week's procedure, she posted a photo of her and her dog on Facebook where she wrote "surgery was successful. Resting with loved ones and of course my cuddle buddy Leo."

Vonn and Woods began publicly dating more than a year ago and in the past she has raved about how the their competitive natures make them such a good match for each other.

When Vonn re-injured her knee in France last week, Woods was there with her and helped her limped off the slopes to be examined by doctors.
