Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the New Jersey Devils (19-18-10, 48 points) and Montreal Canadiens (26-15-5, 61 points) do battle for the third and final time this season live from the Bell Centre in Montreal. The game can be live streamed here. New Jersey fans can hear all of the bone-crunching action by adjusting their radios to WFAN 101.9 while Montreal fans can do the same on TSN 690.
New Jersey enters play having won two of its last three games while Montreal has alternated wins and losses through its last six games. The Canadiens look for the season sweep as they've beaten the Devils 3-2 in Montreal on Dec. 2 and 4-3 in a shootout two nights later on Dec. 4 in New Jersey.
The Canadiens are coming off of a 2-1 win over the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks.
"We learned a lot about ourselves in that last game, the defense-first mentality," Travis Moen said via NHL.com. "If you play strong in your own end, you're going to get chances in their end."
The Devils are coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday, but haven't' lost in regulation in their last four games. Martin Brodeur will get his first start in a week tonight between the pipes in what could prove to be his final game in Montreal if he opts to retire at season's end and these teams don't meet in the postseason.
"I think you kind of enjoy a little more some of the visits you make because you know you're not going to play forever," Brodeur said after practice in Montreal on Monday, according to The Bergen Record. "So, sometimes you catch yourself looking up and being in the moment and really enjoying what's going on at the time."
Brodeur is 12-9-4 with a 2.39 GAA and a .902 save percentage. He'll be opposed by Carey Price, who is 21-11-4 with a 2.19 GAA and a .928 save percentage.
Price will have to stop a New Jersey team that is led by Jaromir Jagr, who has 36 points off of 13 goals and 23 assists while Marek Zidlicky (8-17-25) and Patrik Elias (7-18-25) each have 25 points. Zidlicky has six points in his last six games while Elias (upper-body) is sidelined.
P.K. Subban paces Montreal with 33 points off of seven tallies and 26 assists while Tomas Plekanec has 14 markers and 14 helpers for 28 points and Max Pacioretty has found the twine 19 times and added eight assists for 27 points.
The Devils look for their first win of the season over their opponents while the Canadiens seek a season sweep when these teams faceoff at the Belle Centre tonight in Montreal.
