Brian Banks has signed a deal to bring his life story to the big screen in a full length feature film.
According to TMZ, the aspiring NFL linebacker has inked a deal with Gidden Media to tell the story about how he spent five years behind bars for a rape crime he never committed.
Coming out of high school in 2002, the now 28-year-old Banks was considered one of the top football prospects in the country and was being recruited by several Division 1 programs. It all came to a crashing halt when Banks was convicted and sentenced to prison.
After being exonerated and released, Banks toiled long and hard for another shot at his NFL dream and even signed with the Atlanta Falcons in 2013. Before being cut by the Falcons, Banks actually played in a preseason game and made a couple tackles.
TMZ adds the movie is slated to be produced by Amy Baer, the same producer who work on the hit film Last Vegas, starring Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro and Morgan Freeman.
