Coming out of Tuesday night's WWE SmackDown tapings in Philadelphia that are set to air this Friday, Jan.10, the WWE has added a new match for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event that will air on Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.

On SmackDown, The Big Show appeared on MizTV to discuss his altercation with Brock Lesnar on this past week's episode of Monday Night RAW and was interrupted by Lesnar's manager Paul Heyman. Heyman spoke highly of his client and called him the ultimate fighter of the WWE. The Big Show then challenged Lesnar to a match at the Royal Rumble, which Heyman accepted on behalf of his client who wasn't at the tapings.

It had been widely speculated the last couple of weeks that Lesnar and The Big Show would clash at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event and now it is official. The WWE reportedly plans on making The Big Show look unstoppable leading into the match so that Lesnar can beat him and look strong for his rumored match against The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX

The WWE will likely use Lesnar's win over The Big Show to springboard him into a strong WrestleMania program with The Undertaker that will conclude on April 6 in New Orleans at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome when Lesnar goes after The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak if the WWE's current plans hold up.

Lesnar and The Big Show clashed at the Royal Rumble 11 years ago, where Lesnar won a match to open up the show against The Big Show to earn the right to get into the 30-man elimination match and Lesnar eventually won the match and went on to WrestleMania XIX to defeat Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship.

Other matches on the card include Randy Orton and John Cena going head-to-head for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a rematch from TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs The 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match highlights the show with the winner going onto WrestleMania XXX to face Orton or Cena for the title.

Batista and Alberto Del Rio are the only two entrants that have been revealed so far while 28 others will be announced between now and the Royal Rumble. It has been rumored that Batista may win the match and go on to face Orton at WrestleMania.

After months of speculation it is official that The Big Show and Lesnar will clash at the Royal Rumble on Jan. 26.
