"Stone Cold" Steve Austin will likely never wrestle again and reports indicate that if the "Texas Rattlesnake" appears at WrestleMania XXX it will be in a non-wrestling capacity.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Austin may indeed appear at WrestleMania XXX at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on April 6, but it will be in a non-wrestling capacity. Austin hasn't wrestled since WrestleMania XIX in 2003 when he took on Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the third and final time at WrestleMania.

Austin had talked about wanting to return but has always been doubtful that he'd have the capability to put in the training it takes to get into wrestling shape for a one-off match. Austin also talked about grappling with CM Punk, but Punk is set to take on Triple H at WrestleMania XXX in the blow-off of The Authority angle.

According to the report, Austin has not been receptive to the idea of competing at this year's WrestleMania, which may close the window on Austin ever wrestling in the WWE again.

Austin told PWTorch Radio last month that he couldn't envision himself returning for just one match.

"If I were to get ready for a match, let's call it WrestleMania 30, you need about a three-month prep for that," Austin said during the show. "I've been out of the ring 10 or 11 years, if not longer. I don't even remember. So to properly train for that match would be bumping in the ring every single day for a couple of hours along with all of the other things I would need to do and get on the road and get back into timing and stuff like that."

Austin even discussed his desire to wrestle Punk, despite the fact that a match will likely never happen.

"I got a lot of respect for Punk," he said on the show. "I like his promos and I think we could light it up [on the microphone] and in the ring as well."

The glass will likely shatter to kick off Austin's theme music at WrestleMania XXX, but it doesn't seem like the "Texas Rattlesnake" will be there in a wrestling capacity.
