Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET, the Los Angeles Kings (25-10-4, 54 points) and Chicago Blackhawks (27-7-7, 61 points) go head-to-head live from the United Center in Chicago for the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Los Angeles fans can hear all of the action by adjusting their radios to KTLK 1150 while Chicago fans can do the same on 720 WGN.
Los Angeles enters play having won seven of their last 10 games but they sit in third place in the tough Pacific Division while Chicago is in second place in the Western Conference and has scored 17 goals in its past three games. The first time these two teams met, the Blackhawks defeated the Kings 3-1 in Chicago on Dec. 15.
The Kings are coming off of a tough loss to the Nashville Predators that saw the team tie the game at 2-2 after pulling goalie Ben Scrivens for the extra-attacker just to see the Predators score 10 seconds later to win the game 3-2.
"It's an extremely frustrating way to lose a hockey game," Scrivens said via NHL.com.
Scrivens is 7-4-4 with a 1.76 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage this season. He'll likely be opposed by Antti Raanta, who is 9-1-3 with a 2.38 GAA and a .906 save percentage. No.1 goalies Jonathan Quick (groin) and Corey Crawford (lower-body) remain sidelined.
The Blackhawks have been lighting the lamp with relative ease, but their defense didn't hold up in their latest loss, a 6-5 setback in the shootout to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.
"We had a couple looks in OT and the shootout, two chances as well," Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said. "They really turned it up in the second period, and we didn't have the great response that we needed, but we're still in pretty good shape."
Patrick Kane has led the Blackhawks offensively and is second in the league in points (53), third in goals (23) and sixth in assists (30) while Patrick Sharp is second on the team with 41 points off of 22 markers and 19 helpers and Jonathan Toews has found the back of the net 15 times and added 25 assists for 40 points. Defenseman Duncan Keith has six assists in his last three games and is third in the league with 35 helpers.
Anze Kopitar has a goal and three assists in his last four games and has paced the Kings with 33 points off of 12 tallies and 21 helpers while Mike Richards has found the twine six times and added 21 assists for 27 points and Justin Williams has 13 markers and 12 assists for 25 points.
Two of the best teams in the NHL get it on when the Kings and Blackhawks hit the ice at the United Center tonight in Chicago.
