After each passing week with uncertainty surrounding Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his broken collarbone injury, head coach Mike McCarthy has run out of patience and wants a quicker answer to whether or not Rodgers will play in the team's regular-season finale Sunday against the Chicago Bears with the NFC North division crown on the line.

The Packers have waited until the Friday before each of the last couple of games to make a decision on Rodgers, and McCarthy believes its best for the team to be quicker in its decision-making for this Sunday.

"Sooner than later, absolutely," McCarthy said per NFL.com about the decision. "I think, No. 1, for the football team, but also Aaron Rodgers. I think it's important for us to make a quicker decision. This is obviously frustrating and stressful for Aaron, but also our football team. I want them to know who the quarterback is going to be."

The Packers could use Rodgers as he is the key to their offense, and it was shown last Sunday when Rodgers missed his seventh straight game and the team lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 38-31 in their regular-season home finale to drop to 7-7-1 on the year. The Bears were blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles 54-11 Sunday night to keep the Packers' hopes alive.

Now Green Bay travels to Chicago for a clash with the Bears (8-7) to close out the regular-season. Green Bay lost to Chicago 27-20 at home on Nov. 4 in the last game that Rodgers played in as he sustained the injury in that game.

If Rodgers can't go, Matt Flynn will once again take the reins under center for the Green Bay offense, but Rodgers would love to be able to go if he can get cleared for contact.

"Aaron wants to play," McCarthy said. via NFL.com. "He fully accepts and understands everything that is going on with his injury. This is clearly a decision for [general manager] Ted Thompson and I. I think it's important for us to make a quicker decision."

Rodgers was 168-for-251 (66.9%) for 2,218 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions this season through eight games before the injury.

McCarthy has waited until Friday to declare his starting quarterback for each of the last two games, but with the season on the line and so much at stake, it's expected that he will be quicker with his decision this time around.
