The Tampa Bay Buccaneers registered a comprehensive victory over the formidable Minnesota Vikings 36-17 on Thursday night. It is their first road win in a year and first home loss this season for the Vikings.

The Buccaneers demonstrated good team work today. All the players were focused to beat the Vikings, but Rookie Doug Martin was simply outstanding in the field and he racked up 214 total yards, including two touchdowns.

"It was pretty fun. I'm not going to lie," said Martin, who finished off a screen pass, running for 64 yards for a score against the aggressive defense and help the Buccaneers take 27-10 lead.

"It's hard to come from college to the NFL. The speed of the game is definitely increased, and this is a feel thing. You're looking for that rhythm, as a running back, getting comfortable in the offense and having that game-time experience. I'm definitely there, right where I need to be."

After the early advantage 13-0, the Buccaneers did not let game slip away from their hands.

Adrian Peterson tried to fight back, but the Buccaneers' defense was alert and they did not allow him to take any liberty.

"It can get frustrating sometimes, but you can't show that during the game. You've got to stay focused, stay resilient," Peterson said. "I feel like we did that, but we just weren't able to continue with it and stay on a roll with it."

Quarterback Josh Freeman also played brilliantly and completed 19 of 36 passes for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

"It's always good to have a fast start, especially playing in an environment like this one. I think it makes things a lot easier down the road," Freeman said.

After the defeat the Vikings' record is 4-3 and they will have to play better in the coming games if they are to stay in the race in the NFC North.
