NFL player Kadarius Toney has been arrested amid serious domestic violence allegations. The former wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault by strangulation and obstructing a 911 call.

Kadarius Toney Accused of Strangulation in Georgia

According to police documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the incident took place on Jan. 14 at a residence in Georgia. Toney is accused of wrapping his hand around a woman's neck and applying enough pressure to restrict her breathing.

The alleged assault reportedly left the victim with visible red marks on her neck and petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes, suggesting significant force was used.

Authorities also allege that Toney took the woman's phone during the incident to stop her from calling 911 for assistance.

Warrant Issued, Arrest Made Weeks Later

Warrant for Toney's arrest was issued on Jan. 15, but he was not apprehended until Feb. 6. Records indicate that the 26-year-old was booked into a Douglas County jail, facing two serious charges:

  • Aggravated assault – strangulation
  • Obstructing/harassing 911 calls
  • His bond was set at $25,000 for each charge, amounting to a total of $50,000.

Toney's NFL Career and Recent Struggles

Toney, who was described by The New York Post as a "Giants draft bust" when was drafted in 2021, has experienced a tumultuous career.

After being traded to the Chiefs, he played an important role in their consecutive Super Bowl victories alongside Patrick Mahomes. However, his most recent time was with the Cleveland Browns, where he participated in only three games this past season.

Speaking of the recent Super Bowl LIX, Toney even managed to pull a troll post on Instagram Story. While FanSided says that it does not have any caption, the picture clearly indicates that Toney can save the Chiefs from the most recent embarrassment. However, things won't go that way since he's a free agent—and now that he's arrested, his career could go south further.

Toney's Camp 'Silent' About the Allegations

Currently, Toney has not made any public statements regarding the allegations. His legal team has also not disclosed any information about his defense strategy or potential plea.

Given his history of injuries and inconsistent performance on the field, this latest legal issue could further threaten Toney's NFL career. Teams are likely to keep a close eye on the situation before making any decisions about his future.
