Chelsea FC loaned out its forward, Joao Felix, to AC Milan just as the January transfer window was about to end. The loan is meant to be temporary, but it seems Felix wants to stay in Italy for much longer.
In an interview with the press, Felix admitted that he "would be willing" to stay with AC Milan if the opportunity presents itself.
Does the Loan Deal Have the Option to Buy?
According to The New York Times, Felix said that "For now, I'm on loan until June. And we'll see how things go."
"I'm enjoying what I've seen so far: the club, the people, the facilities," he said of his experience with Milan. "I've been welcomed very well, both me and my family."
"I feel good here, but we know that in football things can change quickly from one day to the next," Felix added. "Were there the opportunity to stay at Milan, I would be willing to remain."
It should be noted, however, that the loan deal between Chelsea and AC Milan does not include an option to buy. The deal will end when the season does, and Felix is expected to return to Chelsea in time for the Club World Cup this summer.
Fans Are Not Impressed With His Comments
Felix's interview unsurprisingly led to many comments from fans of Chelsea, AC Milan, and even FC Barcelona, where he played on loan during the 2023-2024 season.
"No surprise he wants to stay at Milan, he walked into the starting 11," one comment on Reddit said.
"He was saying the same at Barca last year," another comment pointed out.
"Yep, it's a pattern with him," the reply to the comment said. "No surprise he's doing it again."
Another comment echoed the exact same sentiment, "He says this literally everywhere he's gone after Atleti signed him. Grass is always greener for this chappie."
