Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Smith has spoken up about this season's MVP race, and his choice is clear: Josh Allen.

After the Buffalo Bills quarterback put on a show in a win over the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, Smith was finally convinced that Allen got his vote.

Smith said he liked Allen's leadership and played for the first 11 games of the season. He told TMZ that he praised the quarterback for his ability to claim the league's most prestigious individual honor potentially. However, Smith added a caveat: Allen must maintain this level of excellence for the next two months to cement his case for MVP.

"Currently, this is the best that I've seen him play," the football legend said.

Buffalo Bills Need to Reach Super Bowl to Be MVP

While an MVP award would certainly be a huge success for Allen, Smith believes that leading the Bills to a Super Bowl title will be the quarterback's greatest focus.

With the team enjoying its first confidence-boosting win over Kansas City recently, Smith feels that Buffalo has what it takes to reach the NFL's biggest stage.

"I'm hoping that this is what gives us that confidence to know that we can go out on any given Sunday and compete and beat anyone that's on our schedule," he said.

Bills Mafia Celebration? Not Quite for Smith

When asked if he'd celebrate a potential championship with the Bills' notoriously raucous fanbase, which is known to jump through tables, Smith chuckled but firmly declined.

"I won't be joining in on that," he said, though he promised to cheer from the sidelines if Buffalo's passionate fans decide to go all out.

Josh Allen's Road to Glory

Allen is the biggest name on the Bills' way to glory. A steady player and leader, he stands as one of the big MVP candidates, but also for Buffalo as it chases a much-desired trip to the Super Bowl.

Even Allen's teammate Amari Cooper has high respect for the young quarterback. Speaking to ESPN, he said that Allen has been phenomenal lately, referring to it as the "Josh Allen experience."
