Klay Thompson, a former shooting guard of the Golden State Warriors, looks set for the Dallas Mavericks as he begins a new quest. He is coming to a new team to strengthen the stellar shooting guard Kyrie Irving with Luka Doncic in the Texas division.
Before anything else, he had high hopes that his new family would be great, especially with the Slovenian star on their side.
Klay Thompson Praises Luka
The Dallas Mavericks hosted the Milwaukee Bucks in their final preseason contest and closed out the exhibition season with a comfort 109-84 win on Thursday, Oct. 17, according to Sports Illustrated.
Thompson scored 11 points while hauling in six rebounds and dishing out two assists, shooting 4-of-11 from the field and 3-of-7 from three on his way to playing just 18 minutes. As Thompson settles into his new team, his inclusion is expected to strengthen the Mavs' possibilities in this coming season, especially when he joins Irving and Doncic on the court.
"I think we'll be great, and a huge reason why I'm here is because of Luka and a chance to play with him... We'll have a lot of time to build great chemistry. He's such a great player; I don't think he needs much time to get acclimated to new teammates. He's elevated everybody's game since he's been in the NBA," Thompson told Noah Weber of The Smoking Cuban.
Luka Doncic's Rehabilitation and Return to Training
The star forward did participate in his first practice two weeks ahead of the game, even though Luka Doncic did not take part in the preseason on account of a left calf contusion.
According to ESPN, coach Jason Kidd described Doncic as "playing really, really well," though it's unclear when he will begin playing full competition again. The fans look forward to the dynamic trio of Thompson, Irving, and Doncic on the floor together.
