Former NBA first-round draft pick and Philadelphia 76ers point guard R.J. Hampton is embroiled in a shocking scandal following the release of a video that captured him verbally berating Tiffany Jeffcoat, social media influencer and mother of his child.

The video posted by Jeffcoat on TikTok captures the heated confrontation between them in which Hampton deployed abrasive language, addressing suggestions that he was one of the many serial domestic abusers around town.

Captured after Hampton and their 13-month-old son traveled 11 hours to see him, the video filmed in an Oklahoma hotel captures a heated confrontation between Hampton and Jeffcoat, according to Sportskeeda.

In the course of the argument, Hampton used numerous derogatory names to refer to Jeffcoat, including "bitch," and admitted causing bruises on her arms. When Jeffcoat pointed out that bruises came from his hands, Hampton dismissed her, telling her to shut her trap up.

Tensions Over Parenting and Recent Incidents

The row heated up when Jeffcoat accused Hampton of being a bad parent. "My mom is more of a parent to him than you have ever been," he said.

The video ended with a misunderstanding on the cost of Hampton refusing to pay for Jeffcoat's hotel stay. Another video showed Jeffcoat saying that Hampton had taken their son by force from his house, his things not packed, according to Daily Mail.

Domestic Violence Cases and Police Response

Tears shed as Jeffcoat said that Hampton made her call the police. She said the law enforcement treated the case as civil, giving no assistance initially.

In fact, since the video upload, Jeffcoat has not published any other video updates; however, on Instagram, she posted a picture of her son, thanking the Lord for the blessings.

How R.J. Hampton's Camp Responds

In the statement, the Delaware Blue Coats, the Philadelphia 76ers' G League affiliate, accepted the report and said they were investigating the situation.

The basketball star was selected at pick number 24 overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2020 NBA Draft and has gone on to serve in several NBA teams such as the Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, and Miami Heat.

On Reddit, some people called Hampton a "bust" for his recent display of domestic abuse.

"From draft to bust person," one Redditor posted.

"Ugh. Get him off the team, I don't want to become Charlotte. Also this is Maxey's childhood friend iirc. Obviously a million times more horrible for the woman but this must be tough for him," another wrote.
