Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a "good sense" of whether or not he'll play this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers for the first time since suffering a broken collarbone, but wasn't prepared to share his opinion with anyone.

"I have a good sense of what's going to happen," Rodgers said Thursday via ESPN, not giving away much more than that.

It should be known sometime on Friday if Rodgers will take the reins to the Packers offense for the first time since he was injured on Nov. 6 in a game against the Chicago Bears. Rodgers, who hasn't been medically cleared to play yet, split practice snaps with Matt Flynn, who will make his fifth start this Sunday if Rodgers can't go.

"It's an organizational and a medical decision at this point," Rodgers told ESPN about not being cleared.

Rodgers will have another round of medical evaluations on Friday and after that it will be known whether or not he'll take his place under center for the first time in December as the Packers look to beat the Steelers Sunday and then overcome the Bears in the regular season finale to clinch the NFC North for the third consecutive season.

"I'll have an announcement for you tomorrow," coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday, according to ESPN. "Aaron was a limited participant today, and I thought he looked very good."

The Packers are 7-6-1 and control their own destiny after a come-from-behind win over the Dallas Cowboys last week, but the team would like its chances a lot better if the leader of their offense was healthy enough for a return.

ESPN reports that McCarthy told the media Thursday that Rodgers has made significant progress this week and Rodgers said that he has completed every pass he's attempted in practice this week.

"He looks like he's ready to play," McCarthy said per ESPN.

McCarthy also wouldn't say whether or not he thought that Rodgers should be cleared.

"You wanted to know how he looks; he looks good," McCarthy said via ESPN. "He's a limited practice participant. He hasn't been medically cleared."

Rodgers went 168-for-251 (66.9%) for 2,218 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions before the injury.

The Packers control their own destiny, but it remains to be seen if the team will have its offensive leader on the field when it hosts the Steelers this Sunday.
