Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James showed appreciation for one of his former teams during Team USA's preparation for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

The NBA's all-time leading scorer posed for a selfie taken by Miami Heat head coach and Team USA assistant coach Erik Spoelstra, with Heat forward and Team USA teammate Bam Adebayo and incoming sophomore wing Jaime Jaquez Jr.

James then posted a photo of all four of them in his Instagram Stories with the caption "Heat Culture, Past & Present."

The 39-year-old notably spent four seasons and arguably at his athletic peak with the Miami Heat from 2010-11 to 2013-14, winning two NBA titles in 2012 and 2013 under Spoelstra.

James and Adebayo are part of the Team USA squad that will compete in the Olympics, while Spoelstra is an assistant coach for the national team under Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr.

Meanwhile, Jaquez Jr. is part of the Team USA select team brought in to practice with the main roster.

Duke recruit steals spotlight in scrimmage game

The main Team USA squad narrowly defeated the select team 74-73 in their scrimmage game held at the Mendenhall Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on Monday, July 8.

Incoming Duke freshman forward Cooper Flagg stole the show over some of his teammates, who are young stars such as Charlotte Hornets' Brandon Miller and Sacramento Kings' Keegan Murray.

An anonymous NBA head coach present reportedly declared Flagg the best player on the Team USA select team during the contest.
