Aaron Hernandez Murder Case Update: Odin Lloyd Wrongful Death Suit Hearing Date Set {VIDEO]

A Massachusetts Superior Court Judge is slated to hold a hearing on Thursday on the assets of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez after the family of the man he's accused of killing filed a wrongful death lawsuit against him earlier this month.

In addition to filing a wrongful death suit, the family of 27-year-old, former semi-pro football player and one-time Hernandez associate Odin Lloyd is seeking a restraining order to preserve all the former NFL vet's assets.

ABCNews.com reports the suit charges Hernandez "maliciously, willfully, wantonly, recklessly or by gross negligence caused Odin Lloyd to suffer personal injuries that directly resulted in his death." The website adds the suit doesn't specify how much is being sought in damages.

Hernandez has been held without bail and relegated to solitary confinement since being taken into custody last June shortly after Hernandez's bullet-riddled body was found dumped in an industrial field less than a mile away from his sprawling estate.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty in the case and is expected to go on trial sometime in 2014. Since being incarcerated, authorities have also convened a second grand jury to investigate his alleged involvement in a 2012 drive-by, double-slaying in downtown Boston.
