George Zimmerman attorney Mark O'Mara is under investigation by the Florida Bar Association over a potential ethics violation related to his representation of Zimmerman, according to NBC News.
Florida Bar Spokeswoman Karen Kirksey told NBC "the Florida Bar has one case pending at staff in regard to attorney Mark O'Mara's representation of George Zimmerman. All other information is confidential at this time, as is the case with all open investigations."
NBC adds it is unknown who filed the complaint against O'Mara or what the specific nature of it revolves around. Zimmerman was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of unarmed 17-year-old Florida teen Trayvon Martin.
A self-appointed neighborhood watch patrolman, Zimmerman shot and killed the teen just steps from his father's gated-community home after ignoring a 911 dispatcher's advice to cease with following the teen he later admitted he thought looked suspicious because he was wearing a hoodie.
Since being acquitted, Zimmerman has been involved in at least two domestic abuse related incidents and was recently arrested at the home of his girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, who initially told police he pointed a gun at her.
All charges against Zimmerman in the case were recently dropped and he now insists he plans to relocate from Florida to Texas.
