The Boston Celtics will lose a player following their celebrations for winning the 2024 NBA championship.
Forward Oshae Brissett will be opting out of the second-year player option of his contract, according to league insider Keith Smith of Spotrac.
The 26-year-old's option for the 2024-25 season with the Celtics would have been worth $2.5 million, and he will enter unrestricted free agency on July 1.
Despite his limited role, the former Syracuse player is expected to receive bigger offers from the open market after stepping up for the reigning NBA champions whenever called upon.
Brissett previously signed a two-year deal with the Celtics, one of the team's first moves on the first day of free agency in the summer of 2023.

Brissett, who was born in Toronto and raised in nearby cities in Ontario, signed his first NBA contract with the Toronto Raptors for the 2019-20 NBA season after going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft.
He then spent the next stage of his career with the Indiana Pacers from 2021 to 2023.
After signing with Boston, the 6-foot-7 player averaged 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11.5 minutes per game during the 2023-24 regular season.
He appeared in ten of the Celtics' 19 playoff games, averaging 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 5.5 minutes.
