The Dallas Mavericks are now on the verge of losing the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. They have fallen into an 0-3 series deficit after a 106-99 loss in Game 3 on Wednesday, June 12, at their home court, American Airlines Center.

Mavericks star Kyrie Irving shared his reaction to one of the game's pivotal moments not going their way, with star Luka Dončić fouling out in the fourth quarter.

"You just gotta let him breathe a little bit. Let his emotions come out. Just give him a hug. That's it, man. It's easy to point a finger at just him... I've got his back. We all have his back. It's a tough game," the 32-year-old told the media in the post-game press conference.

Dončić picked up his sixth personal foul with 4:12 remaining in the game while attempting to defend Celtics star Jaylen Brown during a drive.

Mavs collapse after incredible comeback

The Mavericks were 21 points down in the second half but didn't let that deter them from trying to regain control.

Dallas mounted a sensational 22-2 run that narrowed the lead to just one in the middle of the fourth quarter.

However, the Mavs lost momentum after Dončić fouled out, and Boston responded with timely buckets to secure the victory.
