Reports indicate that the following was taped Wednesday night in San Antonio, TX for the edition of WWE SmackDown that's set to air this Friday, Dec. 20 as the WWE focuses on the continued fallout of the TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view and begins to look towards the Royal Rumble on Sunday, Jan. 26.

In the main event of the evening, John Cena and CM Punk teamed up against The Shield and won the match by disqualification after all three members of The Shield continuously beat up on CM Punk and wouldn't stop until the referee called for the bell. Roman Reigns speared Cena after the match and Punk fell prey to the triple powerbomb, leading to Big E Langston making up the save as SmackDown went off the air.

Daniel Bryan was supposed to team with Punk and Cena, but he was taken out by the Wyatt family backstage, causing for Punk and Cena to have to go it alone in a handicap match against The Shield.

The match was made at the top of the show when new WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton came out and started complaining that The Authority did nothing to celebrate him cementing his legacy with a win over Cena and instead they made him fight a troll in Bryan on RAW.

Cena and Bryan both interrupted and it led to Punk and The Shield all coming out. Vickie Guerrero then appeared and announced the six-man tag match pitting Cena, Punk and Bryan vs. The Shield.

In tag action, Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Goldust and Cody Rhodes in a non-title match. After the match, The Wyatt Family went to attack Rhodes but he was saved by Bryan, who said he didn't care that he had a six-man tag match later and challenged the Wyatts to a six-man match against himself, Rhodes and Goldust. The Wyatts accepted, and Bryan's team eventually got the win.

In other action, Big E Langston defeated Jack Swagger with Mark Henry at ringside while Fandango picked up a victory over Kofi Kingston. In Divas action, Brie Bella defeated Tamina with A.J. Lee on commentary and then pushed A.J. Lee down after the match.

Elsewhere on the program, Sin Cara overcame Drew McIntyre while Tensai topped Brodus Clay after Xavier Woods, Naomi and Cameron provided a distraction. Following the match, Clay went to attack Tensai but was stopped by Woods.

In a segment, Damien Sandow came out and ripped on Christmas until he was interrupted by The Miz. Sandow won a match over the Miz with a quick roll-up.

While this episode of SmackDown airs over five weeks prior to the Royal Rumble, no matches have been set for the card aside from the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match with a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 hanging in the balance.
