Several Dallas Mavericks starters are gearing up for the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics in a different fashion.

Three of Dallas' starting five in Game 1 of the series wore the Chinese shoe brand ANTA on Thursday, June 6, at the TD Garden in Boston.

They were led by Mavs star Kyrie Irving, who signed an endorsement deal with the brand in July 2023 and launched his own signature shoe, the Anta KAI 1, this year.

Irving wore the KAI 1's updated "Speed" version during warmups in the "Twin Flame" colorway before switching to the original shoe's "Chief Hela" colorway for game time.

Mavs big man Daniel Gafford wore the same ANTA KAI 1 shoes in the "Enlightened Warrior" colorway.

On the other hand, Mavs forward Derrick Jones Jr. did not wear Irving's signature shoe, but he sported a player exclusive for Irving in the "Strength" colorway of the ANTA Shock Wave 5 Pro.

Daniel Gafford and Derrick Jones Jr. have not worn ANTA before

Gafford and Jones wore ANTA for the first time in their careers in Game 1.

Gafford had previously worn the Nike KD 3 for most of the 2024 NBA Playoffs and the Nike Kobe 6 in one game in the Western Conference Finals.

Meanwhile, Jones wore the Nike KD 6 and KD 4 for nearly all of the 2023-24 NBA season, including the playoffs, before switching to the Nike KD 11 in the final game of the Western Conference Finals.
