Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, the Ottawa Senators (14-15-6, 34 points) and New Jersey Devils (13-15-6, 32 points) hit the ice live from the Prudential Center in New Jersey for the second of three meetings against each other this season. The game can be live streamed here. Ottawa fans can hear all of the bone-crunching action by adjusting their radios to TSN 1200 while New Jersey fans can do the same on WFAN 101.9 The Fan.
Ottawa is coming off of a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Monday while New Jersey skates after shutting out the Tampa Bay Lightning 3-0 on Saturday. The first time these two teams played, the Senators beat the Devils 5-2 in Ottawa on Oct. 17.
Senators rookie Cody Ceci scored the game-winning overtime goal in their win over the Blues.
"That's a pretty special feeling. I hope he enjoys it," Bobby Ryan told the Ottawa Sun of Ceci's overtime goal. "I don't think he could have scripted it any better."
Ryan has three multipoint games in his past five contests and leads the Sens with 32 points off of 16 goals and 16 assists while Erik Karlsson has nine tallies and 22 helpers for 31 points and Jason Spezza has lit the lamp 10 times and added 18 assists for 28 points.
There was concern that Dainius Zubrus was hurt and would miss the game, but after taking a maintenance day on Monday he was back at the morning skate Tuesday and is expected to play. Zubrus is on a line with Jaromir Jagr--who teamed with him on the Washington Capitals from 2001-04--and Jagr joked about his success with Zubrus.
"I got traded from Pittsburgh and had 120 points," Jagr told The Bergen Record. "They put [Zubrus] on the line and I had 70. So, it was a 50 percent drop. So, it wasn't a good move. But after 10 years he's a little bit better."
Jagr leads the team with 28 points off of 11 goals and 17 assists while Zubrus is third on the team with 17 points off of seven markers and 10 helpers. Patrik Elias has found the twine seven times and added 13 assists for 20 points this season.
Martin Brodeur is expected to start in between the pipes for New Jersey and is 9-8-2 with a 2.31 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage while Craig Anderson is likely to start for Ottawa and is 9-8-3 with a 3.36 GAA and a .898 save percentage.
Both teams look to expand on their recent wins when the lights come up tonight at the Prudential Center in New Jersey.
