The Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight date was a little more than a month away and anything could still happen. Like the bout getting canceled, or as of now being rescheduled for November 15th.
Ticket holders and other supporters of both fighters expressed worry after news of Iron Mike's medical emergency broke out.
The incident occurred while he was on a flight to Los Angeles from Miami Monday.
It happened moments before the plane landed. Before that, the flight was delayed due to an air conditioning issue on the aircraft.
His representatives said the medical emergency was because of his ulcer.
"He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing," Tyson's representatives said in a statement.
"He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him."
They also dismissed the rumors that Tyson caused the delay of the flight and insisted that it was because of mechanical issues.
Some eyewitnesses, as quoted by In Weekly magazine, corroborated the representatives' statement.
"There was a lot of buzz when he left the Admirals Club and got to the gate. A lot of fans recognized him, and a few people got pictures," said an eyewitness.
"He was very accommodating and then he was escorted away from the gate because the flight was delayed because the gate person said that the plane was too hot because it had been sitting all day and had to cool down."
Although there is an assurance that Mike Tyson is doing better now health-wise, many are still not convinced that the fight should push through.
They expressed concern over Tyson's ulcer which needs to be managed well. A boxer's diet might affect such a condition.
Add to that the fact that Tyson will turn 58 by the time the fight date comes.
Jake Paul says fight with Mike Tyson will push through
Paul got wind of what happened to Tyson and just like the latter's camp, he insisted that nothing has changed about their plans to fight on July 20th at the AT&T Stadium; but plans have changed now that the fight was pushed into mid-November.
"You love to make shit up before knowing the facts for clicks / likes. Nothing changed #PaulTyson," he wrote on X.
He also dismissed fake news that used old pictures of Mike Tyson to make his condition seem worse. Not exactly helping Jake Paul's already questionable image.
Each fighter could earn at least $30 million for the fight which will be livestreamed on Netflix.
It is regarded as among the most anticipated fights of the year and Paul even claimed that it will be one of the most historic ones.
He also vowed to be the one to knock down the Baddest Man on the Planet.
Everyone wants a shot at Paul. Or maybe the money that comes with boxing a Youtuber.
Lightweight champ Ryan Garcia, who recently just beat Devin Haney, blatantly volunteered himself to take over for Tyson after hearing about Iron Mike's health concern.
"If Mike can't fight I'll sub in," he tweeted.
However, Paul is adamant that he wants Mike Tyson, a household name in boxing and one of the greatest boxers of all time.
