The Houston Rockets are rumored to be open to including guard Jeremy Lin in any trade that involves disgruntled center Omer Asik.
According to CBSSports.com, as the franchise's self-imposed Thursday trade deadline nears, the team is now said to be discussing Lin as part of any proposed deal for the Turkish center who has requested a trade after his role drastically diminished in the wake of the arrival of Dwight Howard.
CBS has reported the Rockets have discussed dealing Lin and Asik for Brandon Bass and Jeff Green, as well as engaged in talks with the Sixers about Thaddeus Young.
Lin has averaged 14 points and four assists over 18 games for the Rockets, while shooting 50 percent overall and 38 percent on three pointers. Asik, meanwhile, has appeared in just 17 games and averaged four points and seven assists in just over 18 minutes.
The Rockets signed Asik as a restricted free agent in 2012 after the Chicago Bulls elected not to match an offer sheet for him. Asik averaged 10 points and 12 assists in his first season in Houston, but has since fallen out of favor since the team lured Howard from L.A.
