Oklahoma City Thunder wing Josh Giddey can finally close the chapter on the controversy he has been dealing with for several months.

The NBA has closed its investigation on Giddey regarding an alleged improper relationship with a minor, according to league insider Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

The league's conclusion was similar to that of the police investigation, which was concluded earlier this year.

In January 2024, the Newport Police Department announced that the 21-year-old would not face any charges due to a lack of corroborating evidence.

During the investigation, the 6-foot-8 player opted not to comment on the matter and did not miss any games with the Thunder.

The allegations surfaced initially in November 2023 when an anonymous social media user claimed that a girl appearing with Giddey in videos and photographs at the time was a high school junior.

Josh Giddey's difficult season

Giddey's future in Oklahoma City is uncertain after three seasons of potential with the team.

Despite starting in all 80 regular-season games, the Australian was benched for the team's final two playoff games against the Dallas Mavericks due to weaknesses in defense and shooting being exploited.

Reports suggest that the Thunder is expected to shop him around the league in the offseason, along with their many first-round picks, in search of a player who will better fit their roster.
