Another MLB player gets embroiled in a heinous child abuse act as Florida authorities released a video of the sting operation held to arrest former Boston Red Sox pitcher Austin Maddox.

The former baseball professional was among the 28 men arrested during the operation held on April 28.

The video showed him casually arriving at a house where the police were waiting.

The cops jumped him the moment he opened the door, and he was tackled to the ground before getting handcuffed.

NBC Miami, quoting Florida police, said that Maddox continued to meet with a girl despite her saying she was only 14 years old.

"Maddox was one of 27 people arrested as part of a multi-agency operation late last month, Jacksonville Sheriff T.K. Waters said. They are accused of soliciting sex over the internet from people who they believed were children," the report said.

"Maddox, 33, began communicating with an undercover agent pretending to be an underage girl on April 28, an arrest report said. He expressed his intent to have sex with the girl even after she told him that she was 14."

Maddox played just one season in the MLB.

Second child abuse case against an MLB player this year

The former Red Sox pitcher is the second MLB player to be involved in a child abuse case.

Wander Franco of the Tampa Bay Rays saw his rising career come to a halt before the end of the 2023 season after being accused of having a sexual relationship with an underage girl back in his home country, the Dominican Republic.

The latest on his case states that he is going to be formally charged with commercial sexual exploitation of a minor.
