It has been two weeks since the Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight, but the result has yet to be settled officially, at least in legal proceedings.

Haney's legal team requested that the New York State Athletic Commission overturn the result of the April 20 bout that Garcia won after the latter was accused of using performance-enhancing drugs ahead of their fight.

Haney was knocked out three times in their ring encounter and lost on a majority decision.

Haney's attorney, Pat English, sent an eight-page request to the commission to award his client the victory, saying Garcia's act is a mockery of the sport.

"There is a blemish on Mr. Haney's record," English wrote in the letter.

"He was placed in an unsafe fight under NYSAC jurisdiction. The bout was made a mockery and in addition to the PED use and prohibited use of IV's, after the bout, Mr. Garcia admitted that missing weight was a tactic to give him an unfair advantage."

He also questioned the procedure the fighters must undergo before the fight.

"As there was no second-day weigh in required by the commission, thus it is impossible to know what he weighed on fight night," he said.

"This is why, after setting forth the facts below we request that Mr. Garcia be disqualified, which is more fitting than a no-contest in this situation."

Garcia's alleged dope use surfaced two weeks after the fight.

He won the bout, but he was no longer eligible to win the WBC Super Lightweight title since he did not make the required weight.

He also forfeited up to  $600,000 for the infraction.

Ryan Garcia reacts to the request

ESPN's Mike Coppinger reported that he tested positive for Ostarine. Garcia has since denied the allegations.

He said he had never used PEDs in his life and questioned the timing of the report.

He claimed that there was something fishy about the report coming out after he had won, even though the testing was done before the fight took place.

Right now, he is monitoring every piece of news surrounding him as he reacted swiftly to the request of Haney's camp. He wrote on X:

"You can't make this up

Haney wins

"Nah, what bruh."

On Sunday, he called on Haney to do a rematch to prove that he did not cheat and that he had won the game fair and square.

Possibility of Ryan Garcia vs Devin Haney fight rematch

Garcia is willing to fight Haney again, but the latter is not keen.

Haney claimed his last opponent was a cheater, and fighting a cheater is similar to putting his life on the line.

"Honestly, I'm not too interested in it. During the build-up, we've seen a lot of interesting things from him," he told reporters when asked about a rematch.

"We've seen his character, we've seen the guy cheat, we've seen the type of person he is. I don't see myself ever getting back in the ring [with him], but I'm a fighter. I'm speaking right now how I feel, but we never know what the future holds. Although he put my life at risk. He showed that he will do whatever it takes to win, even cheat."

However, as he said, it is hard to know what the future holds.
