The Milwaukee Bucks and Patrick Beverley's 2023-2024 season has come to a bitter end after bowing out of the first round of the playoffs at the hands of the Indiana Pacers.

However, Beverley will remain a bit restless, as Indiana authorities confirmed they are investigating an incident involving the veteran point guard.

Beverley was caught on video altercating with a fan courtside with at least two minutes remaining in the game.

"Indianapolis Police is investigating the incident between Patrick Beverley and a fan during Game 6 of Bucks-Pacers series; detectives confirm to me and @MikeVorkunov they are working with Gainbridge Fieldhouse to review video footage and plan to speak with the parties involved," Shams Charania reported through X.

Patrick Beverley threw the ball to a male audience, but before that, a female spectator was hit in the head by the ball when he tossed it and missed the target.

The male fan returned the ball to Beverley, but Beverley seemed furious, so he jawed with the fan until he was stopped by teammate Jae Crowder.

Indiana detectives issued a news release stating they are "currently investigating this situation and take all accusations seriously."

After the investigation, they will present the case to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

It is not known whether someone filed a case against Beverley, but American police do not need anyone to lodge a formal complaint for them to start an investigation.

Patrick Beverley already apologized for ball throwing incident

Beverley took to X to apologize for his actions and complained about how the incident was received only from one perspective.

He reiterated that apology in the latest episode of his show, "The PatBev Podcast."

"I will be better," he said. "I have to be better, and I will be better. That should have never happened. Regardless of what was said, that should have never happened. Simple as that."

Bucks coach Doc Rivers was also not amused by Beverley's late-game behavior, saying that is not how the team behaves.

Beverley was also criticized for dismissing ESPN reporter Malinda Adams' attempt to interview him because she was not following his podcast.

He also shared that PatBev already felt apologetic for his actions.

"We're better than that," Rivers said.

"Pat feels awful about that. He also understands emotionally - this is an emotional game and things happen - unfortunately, you're judged immediately and he let the emotions get the better of him."

Patrick Beverley's contract and future

Beverley's NBA days remain uncertain as he was only contracted with the Bucks until the end of the season.

It remains unknown if his contract will be extended, and the recent incidents might affect his chances.

He will be 36 by July, but he showed in the series with the Pacers that he remains a reliable defensive guard.

Should the Bucks re-sign him?
